The follow up to her last book The Other Woman, The Half Sister is another great story filled with twists and turns. Author Sandie Jones is becoming one of my favorite authors. Just when you think you know where the story is going she pulls the rug out from under you and goes in another direction. That’s the mark of a good author.

Lauren and Kate’s dad Harry died ten months ago. Kate idolized him. Lauren not so much. They haven’t been close in along time but still act civilly towards each other. Kate is married to Matt and they’re trying to have a baby but haven’t had luck. Lauren is married to Simon and has three kids. Her marriage is not going good but she never lets on to anyone.

At there Sunday dinner Lauren, Kate, Simon and the kids are at their mother Rose’s house. A knock on the door will soon change everything. A 22 year old woman named Jess has come by looking for Harry. She wants to meet her father. Rose and girls are shocked and don’t believe her. She claims she’s the girls half-sister. Kate and Rose refuse to believe it but Lauren does.

As the story goes along Lauren and Kate both have different reactions to Jess and each handles it differently. Kate starts digging and soon finds out things she is shocked to know. Seems everyone has sorted secrets in their past and it all leads to shocking revelations and will forever change everyone’s lives.

You can pick up The Half Sister in stores on Tuesday, June 16 from Minotaur Books.
