After auditioning for a play at their school in Boston, June and Natalie (known as Tali), both 17 disappear and the search is on to find them, which is led by Detective Fitz Jameson (who has a secret of his own). Two days later the bodies are discovered by the caretaker on Watties Beach, Tali is alive but June didn’t make it. As Fitz and the police department work the case, a number of potential suspects emerge and secrets are uncovered about Tali’s father and he soon becomes a prime suspect. As Tali works through her trauma, the police are hopeful she will remember more details about what happened to her that night. As the clues and suspects mount, a shocking discovery is made that will change the investigation and reveal what happened on that fateful night. A solid thriller with twists and turns to keep the reader engaged throughout the novel.
