Book Review: ‘Like Lions’ Is A Good Follow Up To Bull Mountain

Author Brian Panowich is back with his follow up to Bull Mountain, his hit book from 2015. Clayton Burroughs is the Sheriff of a small town in Georgia and is married to Kate and has a young son. He’s also part of the legendary Burroughs criminal family. But he’s one of the good guys. He had to kill his older brother to protect someone.

And now things are getting bad. A rival gang has come to town and are looking to use the route his family used to push their stuff. When Clayton kills the son of the gang it sets up a revenge plan to take down Clayton and his family. A plan is set in motion and it could cost Clayton everything he loves. We also learn about Clayton’s family via a flashback and we get a shocking twist by the end of the story.

A great follow up to the first book. Clayton Burroughs is a well-written character as are the others in the novel. It’s a good story set in an ideal location with solid action and a few twists and turns that will keep the reader engaged throughout.

You can pick it up in stores on Tuesday, April 30th from Minotaur Books.
