The year is 1856, and Ralph Waldo Emerson is visiting Amherst, Mass, to speak at a literary society, with his secretary Luther, The Dickinson family is excited about this visit, and Ralph and his wife will be staying with Emily’s brother Austin. But things soon take a deadly turn, when Luther is accosted, and later found dead, poisoned in Austin’s garden. Emily and her maid, Willa Noble, play detective and try to figure out who the murdered was, while trying to stay alive. This is a fun period piece, with two main interesting characters, and an old-fashioned who dun nit. This one is a winner.
