I love the Barker and Llewelyn series and the new novel, number 13 in the series, is another well-written story with these two fun characters. Barker and Llewelyn are in there office when Roland Fitzhugh walks in and first thing he asks for is a glass of water and then collapses and dies. Before he does he asks for help. They soon learn he died of poisoning from a raspberry tart and had gone to Scotland Yard first and said he thought someone was trying to poison him. Barker and Llewelyn considered themselves hired and are on the case to try and find the killer. Then a whole family is found dead from poisoning from a tart. The person is labeled as the Mad Pie Man and soon it becomes very personal for Barker and Llewelyn, when his butler is found near death from poison and his dog sick, the killer seems to be one step ahead of them. He or she has broken in Barker’s home and now they’re forced to move away for a time and not having much luck finding the person responsible. They soon catch a break and figure out who has been doing the killings and why with a shocking reveal. A fun time for all that read this series.

You can pick up Fierce Poison in stores on Tuesday, April 12th from Minotaur Books.
