In the year 2009 Peggy Mayfield is living by herself when she falls and has to go to the hospital. Her daughter Katey takes her and when a letter arrives for Peggy from the Government telling Peggy she’s getting a Congrssional Gold Metal Of Honor, it opens up Peggy’s secret past, that her kids don’t know about. In 1943 Peggy left her midwest life and went to Texas determined to be a WASP, Women Airforce Service Pilot, she learned to fly growing up from her dad. We follow via duel timelines Peggy’s life as a WASP, her live there with her best friend and her life now and her secrets being revealed. Peggy has a medical condition and doesn’t know how much longer she has and has to come to terms with her past and present. An emotionally, well-written novel showcasing the women who help out during WWII and the crap they also had to put up with. A great-duel storyline story that will keep you reading along.
