In Colorado, a luxury resort called Erebus has opened and has unique animals on display, including mammoths, elk and a giant sloth, all from de-extinction DNA, bringing them back to life. Mark and Oliva Gunnerson are honeymooning at the resort and staying in a tent, when they both vanish and a pool of blood is found. Frankie Cash from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Sheriff James Colcord are brought in to find them and figure out what is going on. As they investigate things don’t add up, and soon make a shocking discovery. There’s a lot more going on here than just animals and now everyone’s lives are in danger because of what they find. I am a big fan of Douglas Preston, on his own, or with Preston & Child, he never writes a bad novel. This one is a thrill ride from the beginning, and you won’t want to put it down.
