Based on a partial manuscript and notes from the late Michael Crichton, his widow asked James to finish this novel, and the results are a thrilling book. A major volcano eruption is about to happen near Hilo, Hawaii, the likes of which hasn’t been seen before. To top that off, the U.S. military is there with a shocking secret, and if Dr. John MacGregor can’t figure out a way to change the course of the lava flow, it could mean the end of the world because of the secret that’s shared with him. We follow along as the days start to narrow down, nothing goes according to plan, people are dying, and Mac (as he’s known) makes one desperate attempt to stop the world from ending, which could cost him his life. When you take two of the best writers ever, you get a fantastic story that you will not want to put down.
