Book Review: ‘Devoted In Death’ By J.D. Robb

Eve Dallas is back on the case and the killers better beware.

Best selling author J.D. Robb is back with her next book in the In Death series with Eve Dallas. Her latest is Devoted In Death (Putnam, in stores September 15).

Darryl and Ella-Loo are two young people who fall in love and have a healthy sex life. When they accidentally murder someone it intensifies their relationship and they go on a torture/killing spree across from the south leading to New Your City to enhance their sex life.

A gruesome murder with no clues leads Eve Dallas and her crew searching for who would have done this. When more people go missing the police crew hunker down and look at every possible angle as to who could be responsible for the murder.

Eve not one to sit around and let murderers continue to kill works day and night trying to figure it out. With the luck of some cameras the killers didn’t notice and a few minor mistakes (up to this point they have been careful and not left any clues) Eve, Roarke, Peabody and the rest of the force get some breaks and close in on the killers before they kill their latest victims.

An enjoyable read that is by the books as far as cop novels go. The killers are given their back story, the cops at first are frustrated with trying to find them and slowly they get breaks to catch the killers. The characters are enjoyable (I have never read one of the In Death books before). I look forward to the next book in the series.
