After the events of City On Fire, Danny Ryan is on the run from Providence, the Italian Mob, and the Feds. He takes off with his 18-month-old son, his father, and a few of his boys. He needs to lie low for quite a while until he figures out how to get out of the mess he’s in. Ending up in San Diego, gets a job, and things seem to be going well, until he is spotted. In exchange for everything going away, he needs to do a job for the feds, which gives him a lot of money. Meanwhile, back in Providence all hell is breaking loose, and we learn the fates of many of the mob from the first book. Danny meanwhile starts a new life, gets in trouble with the L.A. mob, falls in love, and watches things fall apart. This second novel is a very character driven story, unlike all the blood and gore of the first novel. Fans will be thrilled with the continuing story of Danny, and the characters from the first novel. One more book in the series will be coming before Don Winslow retires from his writing career.

You can pick up City Of Dreams in stores on Tuesday, April 18th from William Morrow.
