Every ten years the town of Linwood, California has a contest, where one winner gets to bring back someone who died, for thirty days. This year Wilson Moss, who has just graduated, has won, and brings back her best friend Annie LeBlanc, who died of an accidental drowning. They had a rough time before she died, and is happy to see her best friend. As we watch the countdown of days until Annie will be gone again. Along the way secrets will be revealed and Wilson finds a loophole, that could keep Annie for good, and she is trying to do what she needs to keep her here before time runs out. This is the US debut from author Morris, and it’s a fun one, targeted at the young adult crowd. It’s a unique plot, that allows for forgiveness and friendship, and you follow along hoping that Annie might be able to stay.
