Iris Sparks and Gwen Bainbridge are back for their third thrilling adventure and it’s as good as the first two. It’s post WWII London and their RIght Sort Marriage Bureau (a dating service) is finally starting to take off. And they even get there first black customer Simon Daile, who’s looking for a wife. They’ve never had a black person before and are not sure how to navigate it but take him on. And Gwen soon learns that Lord Bainbridge is coming back home after six months away and when he does he’s as horrible as ever. He has decided that little Ronnie will be sent to boarding school against the wishes of Gwen (who still doesn’t have custody). And then a devious plot is hatched and Gwen is in the middle of it and Simon seems to be mixed up in it. It’s all hands on decks to fix the problem and shocking secrets come out and it changes everything for Gwen.

This series is great and it keeps getting better with each book. Solid character development and plot movement make this next chapter a hit. Can’t wait to see where author Allison Montclair goes next.

You can pick up A Rogue’s Company in stores on Tuesday, June 8th from Minotaur Books.
