Book Review: ‘A Curious Incident: A Novel’ By Vicki Delany

It’s summertime in West London, Mass and for Gemma Doyle that means it’s the busy season for her book store the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop and Imperium. So she is shocked when 10 year old Lauren Tierney shows up hearing that she can help solve crimes, asking her to help find her missing kitten Snowball. Gemma tries to explain that she’s not ‘a consulting detective’ because she has helped solve cases with the police department before. But Gemma ends up finding the cat. And now Lauren has a bigger case for her, help clear her mother Sheila, who is a prime suspect in the murder of her neighbor Anna. They had a feud going over garders, a book and if Anna was having an affair with Sheila’s husband. Gemma knows she can’t get involved, especially since it would put her at odds with her police detective boyfriend Ryan. But Gemma ends up involved and ends up getting more clues and info and figuring out who really murdered Anna.

Another good story in the Sherlock Holmes series with interesting characters, a snarky cat and a fun story for fans to follow along with.

You can pick up A Curious Incident in stores on Tuesday, January 12th from Crooked Lane.
