Review by Monique
When four generations of the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.
It’s that time of year where the Christmas movie gags begin. To start things off, Love The Coopers should of been better! Now generally I’m usually biased to anything that Diane Keaton is in but my expectations for Love The Coopers was maybe just a little too high.
In typically form for holiday movies, the Cooper clan gather together during the happiest time of year to work out their issues and learn to appreciate each other more. Sadly though, the movie loses that warm and fuzzy feeling that should be present in a holiday comedy. Instead, there’s a little too much fighting which almost makes the Coopers seem like psychos being portrayed in a dark drama. The constant flashbacks and several story lines at once is sadly quite nauseating. For a holiday comedy, unfortunately, Love The Coopers isn’t it.
In stores now.
