“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”
With the new Justice League movie coming out Warner Bros. has been re-releasing a lot of their titles with new editions. The latest is their 2008 release Justice League: The New Frontier. Included in the new release an all-new featurette spotlighting the late Darwyn Cooke. The comic book author and artist’s seminal work, DC: The New Frontier, received an Eisner, Harvey and Shuster Award, and that six-issue comic book limited series served as the key source material from which the film was adapted. Justice League: The New Frontier – Commemorative Edition also features box art from Cooke’s canon of dazzling New Frontier imagery.
The story finds Superman (Kyle MacLachlan), Batman (Jeremy Sisto), Wonder Woman (Lucy Lawless), Green Lantern and The Flash (Neil Patrick Harris) together to fight a deadly force The Centre, a doomsday cult. Each superhero has their own way of wanting to do things and have to learn to work with each other in order to stop the end of mankind.
It’s your typical superhero animated movie, this time bringing everyone together and in the end it sets up The Justice League. You can pick it up in stores on Tuesday, October 3rd.
