Blu-ray Review: ‘The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season’

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

TV shows rarely make it to ten seasons on TV let alone get renewed for two more seasons. The Big Bang Theory is one of the exceptions. It still pulls great ratings and luckily the cast and the producers/network are able to work out deals to keep it going. I have been a fan of the show since the beginning. As much as I enjoy it thought it does feel like it’s over-stayed its welcome. The Friends cast could have signed for more seasons but they felt it was time to go. A part of me feels this way about Big Bang. Sure it’s still funny and has its moments but sometimes as the saying goes less is more.

For season ten it was a time of change for the characters. We met Penny’s Mom (Katey Sagal) and brother (Jack McBrayer), perfect casting in my opinion. Bernadette and Howard have their baby (which according to the producers will never be seen just heard). Amy’s apartment has a plumbing problem and she moves in with Sheldon in Penny’s apartment and Penny and Leonard live in Sheldon’s place. Of course this creates all sorts of issues living with Sheldon. Even after her apartment is fixed, Amy wants to stay with Sheldon. Raj has money issues so he moves in with Penny and Leonard which creates its own drama. Leonard, Sheldon and Raj work on a project for the Air Force and then find it’s been taken away from them for classified reasons. Amy is offered a summer job at Princeton and leaves Sheldon alone. His old admirer Dr. Ramona Nowitzki shows up and is after him while Amy is away. It leads to Sheldon making one of the biggest decisions of his life.

Overall another fun season highlighted but the cliffhanger ending. You can pick up The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season in stores on Tuesday, September 19th.
