Blu-ray Review: ‘Arrow: The Complete Fifth Season’

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

Arrow season five was all about change. It’s been five months since the death of Damien Darhk and Oliver is now mayor of Star City. He’s also assembling a new team. Star City is having it’s usual amount of bad guys and soon Oliver and new team is hitting the streets to take them out. Having to train a new team is driving Oliver crazy and he wonders if it’s worth it. Meanwhile Diggle has gotten himself in some trouble and it will be up to Oliver to help him out of it. We are slowly introduced to the big bad of the season Prometheus. He has it out for Oliver for something that happened in the past. He keeps outwitting Oliver at every turn until his shocking identity is revealed. He still manages to stay one step ahead of Oliver until the finale episode where Oliver has to turn to some people from his past and it sets up a major showdown that could put everyone’s lives in peril.

Another great season of adventure, plot twists and Oliver having to search his soul to do what’s right. It left on a major cliffhanger with no word on who will survive (there’s been some online rumors).

You can pick up Arrow: The Complete Fifth Season in stores on Blu-ray/DVD on Tuesday, September 19.
