12 Best of Christmas: Best Video Games of 2022!

Last year was a bit of a disappointment when it came to games. There were a few great ones, but overall it was a transition year for gaming. This year the consoles are back in full swing and there was so much to play that I had a hard time keeping up. Some developers seem to have also had the same issue.

Some games released this year after years of development and they still felt rushed and incomplete, or riddled with bugs. Dying Light 2’s multiplayer almost kept it off of my list this year for this exact reason.

I also thought long and hard about putting in the great remakes from this year because they were pretty much the same stories as the originals, but gameplay was updated and graphics were drastically enhanced. I ultimately decided to include them because they were just such great games.

Sadly, if you are a Nintendo Switch owner you won’t find anything on this year’s list. If I had to recommend Nintendo games just based on what I watched others play, then I would certainly recommend Pokémon: Arceus, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and the new Kirby game. However, I didn’t play any of them long enough myself to throw them on the list.

It truly was a great year for gaming! And here’s the games I think were the best. Links below for trailers.
