Well Go USA Entertainment announced today that it has acquired all North American rights (theatrical, non-theatrical, home video, television, digital/electronic) to Xu Zheng’s raucous comedy LOST IN HONG KONG, the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2012 release LOST IN THAILAND. Well Go will release the film Friday, September 25, 2015 in a day-and-date release with China.
Written, directed, produced by and starring veteran actor Xu Zheng (Lost in Thailand, Breakup Buddies), LOST IN HONG KONG follows Xu Lai (Xu Zheng), a former artist whose dreams were dashed when the responsibilities of life set in. With his life now revolving around his wife Cai Bo (Zhao Wei) who is obsessed with having children, the quirks of his eccentric family and his mediocre, ordinary existence, Xu Lai hopes to reconnect with his first love Yang YIi (Du Juan) on an upcoming vacation. However, his hopes are dashed when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder investigation that proves truth is often stranger than fiction.
LOST IN THAILAND was the highest grossing film released in China in 2012, and is currently the second highest grossing Chinese-language film in history.
