Movie Review: ‘Bunyan & Babe’ Is A Fun-Filled Animation Film

* Bunyan & Babe, a modern take on the American folk story of the legendary lumberjack and his pet blue ox, starring the voice talents of John Goodman, Kelsey Grammer, Jeff Foxworthy, Mark Hamill and YouTube star Johnny Orlando, will be available exclusively for free* on Google Play starting on January 12 from Cinedigm. Bunyan & Babe will also make its debut in theaters in twelve markets including New York and Los Angeles on February 3.

A fun-filled animation movie meant for the entire family, ‘Bunyan and Babe’ is a total entertainer especially for the kids. Based inside a small village in Minnesota, the story revolves around the adventures of a 12- year old boy Travis (voice of Johnny Orlando) along with his kid sister Whitney. When Travis and Whitney visit their grandparents in Minnesota, they come across interesting events all through their holidays. As one unexpected incident leads to the other, the kids have fun in their own way.

The story of this movie follows a simple path with excellent work done by the animators. Each of the voice artists have justified their role, bringing every character to life. As the audience shall watch the movie, the story will seem totally real despite of its animated nature. Besides these kids as the central characters, the movie involves giant superstars of the town Paul Banyan (John Goodman) and his blue ox Babe (Jeff Foxworthy). These two giant actors add fun and entertainment to the plot, while they come in contact with Travis. Though Travis was reluctant to spend his holidays on the farm with his grandparents, he soon enjoys his holidays to the fullest. As Travis and Whitney help their grandfather on the farm, they have fun in routine tasks.

Excellent narration, beautiful scenery, fun-filled dialogues and easy-moving story are the highlights of this movie that excels in every domain. Giant nature of Bunyan and his blue ox appear interesting as it adds surprise elements into the movie.

While going to the market for an errand, Travis comes across the devilish plan of a greedy land developer Norm Blandsford and his brother. By using the technique of hypnotist act, as these brothers hope to take away the houses and farms of the poor town dwellers, Travis realizes some trouble in the making. When one of the developer’s men chases Travis back on his way, he experiences some magical action. Within few minutes, as he finds himself around Paul Banyan and Babe, Travis fails to understand the situation. With this starts a new set of adventure between Banyan, Babe, Travis and Whitney as they try to save the town from these villains.

Each of the characters seem interesting as the story takes exciting twists and turns. Norm’s office assistant supports Travis and Bunyan, when the land developer traps the ox for his selfish motive.

Truly fun-filled in every way, ‘Bunyan and Babe’ is a good relaxing story to enjoy with the kids. Watch this movie for an excellent display of animation, amazing imagination, funny dialogues and simple story. ‘Bunyan and Babe’ is your answer for a fun-filled piece of entertainment.
