Interviews: Actors Amanda Crew’ And ‘Emile Hirsch’ Talk Their New Movie Freaks

Amanda Crew is an actress and photographer best known for her roles as Monica Hall on HBO’s Silicon Valley and as Felicia in the 2008 comedy Sex Drive. I recently had the chance to talk with Amanda about her latest film, Freaks. Written and directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein Freaks tells the story of 7-year-old Chloe (Lexy Kolker), who lives under her father’s (Emile Hirsch) paranoid control, while being fascinated with of the outside world which is under constant threat from the Abnormals. When a mysterious stranger (Bruce Dern) offers her a glimpse of what’s really happening outside, Chloe finds that while the truth isn’t so simple, the danger is very real. Emile Hirsch is one of Hollywood’s most established young actors. He burst onto the scene with the 2004 film, The Girl Next Door, before earning critical acclaim in 2007’s Into the Wild. I recently had the chance to talk with Emile about his latest film, Freaks.
