DVD Review: ‘Lucifer: The Complete Second Season’

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

What can you say about Lucifer other than it’s one of the most fun, well written shows on TV. Nobody can dead pan a line or give a look better than star Tom Ellis. NO ONE!!!! Season two continued the sexual tension between Lucifer and Chloe as they worked together on cases and spent time together. There were kisses and close moments. Then Lucifer learned the truth about Chloe and who she really was (hint it involves Dad), it through him for a loop.

The arrival of Charlotte (mother of Lucifer and Amenadiel) causes problems throughout the season. She just wants to reunite her family and is on a quest to go back. She needs certain instruments in order to do that. It’s brother against brother at times with Maze also in the mix. Also another one of Lucifer’s brothers shows up and Lucifer is forced to do something he doesn’t want to do.

Then there’s the brilliant scenes with Dr. Linda, who’s told the truth about Lucifer and his family and doesn’t know what to make of it all. There are just some amazingly, fun scenes with her and them. It all leads to an dramatic ending of the season and asks the question where is Lucifer and what happens going forward.

Some fun episodes to look out for include Lucifer’s wife Candy and episode three when Lucifer is in the tanning salon and also in a closet critiquing clothes. Just LOL stuff again delivered in a way only Tom Ellis can do.

You can pick up Lucifer: The Complete Second Season on DVD Tuesday, August 22.
