A&E’s award-winning series “Cold Case Files” returns with an all-new batch of episodes on Thursday, May 25 at 10pm ET/PT.
Produced by Emmy and Peabody award winning studio Blumhouse Television (“The Jinx”) and independent production studio, AMPLE, each one-hour episode explores compelling cases that have gone cold for years and chronicle the journeys of the detectives who reopened them. The detectives relive the events of the crimes, reveal new twists and startling revelations for full viewer immersion into these tragic cases, relying on breakthroughs in forensic technology and the influence of social media to help crack these cases – bringing long-awaited closure to the victim’s families and friends.
In the first new episode, the body of Brad, a local young man, was found beaten and tied up in the storeroom of the gas station where he worked in Brigham City, Utah. No one could image a motive for the brutal killing of a mild-mannered, church-going, college student and the case soon went cold. Two decades later, Brad’s brother, now a police officer, and a DA that has close ties to his family, reexamined the case. With the help of new DNA technology, they are able to place their prime suspect at the scene of the crime.
