P.J. Tracy is back with book number 9 in the Monkeewrench series of books. It follows the familiar formula of killings, cops getting frustrated and then catching a break and go on the hunt for the killer.
Gregory Norwood is a rich Minnesotan who has great ties to the community. His son died of a drug overdose and it’s now a year later. Gregory is drunk and feeling sad. Soon his body is found with a gun shot. It is at first assumed he committed suicide. Detectives Leo Magozzi and Gino Rolseth are on the case and soon find clues that it was murder and the hunt is on to find the killer.
Meanwhile Monkeewrench team (computer geniuses who seem to be able to track down, hack or find anything they need via the internet) is working with the FBI and searching for a potential terrorist attack rumored to be hitting Minneapolis. Grace is also due to have her baby with Leo anytime now but isn’t slowing down. They track down the attack to be possibly hitting City Hall and precautions are taken to protect it. The more Leo and Gino investigate the more they find that death of Norwood and this potential terrorist attack can be related and they all work together to solve the murder and prevent mass chaos an attack can bring.
Another excellent adventure with Magozzi and Rolseth and the Monkeewrench crew. These characters and well written and fun to read every year. This is my third time reading them and it’s like visiting old friends. With twists and turns and the impending birth of Grace’s baby. it makes for yet another fun adventure.
You can pick it up in stores on Tuesday, September 11.
