In Lake George< New York it's like any other morning when wife and mother Shannon Blaine goes jogging. But this time she doesn't return. She has vanished and the small town is searching everywhere for her. There is no sign anywhere of where she might be. She is classified at the moment as a missing person. Bailey Weggens who writes for Crime Beat (a website) arrives in town from New York City to cover the case. She immediately starts asking questions of everyone trying to get scoops and what might have happened to her. She starts learning little details that start adding up to bigger details. She gets an anonymous call telling her to look at a certain place for clues. She finds Shannon's body and that of two others that went missing 10 years ago. She keeps digging and is working with a friend Alice (who is also a reporter). Alice has found something and wants to tell Bailey. When she gets to her house she finds her dead (she's been murdered). The more she digs the closer she gets to the truth until she finally figures it out but it may be too late for her now. This is my first time reading one of Kate White's Bailey novels and she is a strong, determined character. The story is a twisty novel with lots of twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. A real page-turner of a story. You can pick it up in stores on Tuesday, May 7th from Harper Paperbacks.
