After a leave of absence Alexandra Cooper is back to work at the Manhattan Sex Crimes office for her job as Assistant DA. Some are wondering if she’s back to work to early. There’s also rumors she may run for District Attorney but she says she is not. Ready to dive right into work she meets Lucy. Lucy had testified years ago as a minor in a big federal trial. She now is coming forward and saying she was sexually assaulted during that time by someone on the case. On top of that one of Alexandra’s close friends Francie has been rushed to the hospital and it is being kept very hush hush.
As Alexandra dives into Lucy’s case it shows that it is someone she knows and bringing him down would make her happy. She also is looking into Francie’s situation and it could involve a judge. The more she digs into Lucy’s case the closer she gets to bringing down the man responsible. But it could also cost her her life and that of Lucy as a game of cat and mouse is played and who will survive to live another day.
This is my first time reading one of the Alexandra Cooper novels and she’s a force to be reckoned with. A strong female who’s not afraid to go after the truth. With twists and turns leading up to a climatic, thrilling ending that will have you on the edge of your seat.
You can pick up Blood Oath in stores on Tuesday, March 26 from Dutton.
