Blu-ray Review: ‘No Holds Barred’

No Holds Barred is a cheesy movie that first came out in 1989 starring Hulk Hogan. It’s the ultimate in cheese fest. It’s available for the first time on Blu-ray April 1.

Rip (Hulk Hogan) is a bad guy wrestler, who in reality is a good guy away from the ring. His brother Randy (Mark Pellegrino) and his trainer Charlie are always cheering him on at his matches. Rip has made his network really popular and now a rival network wants to steal him away. When Rip turns down Brell politely, he is mad and tries to have his thugs beat him up, which isn’t a good idea.

Brell decides to start his own type of tough guy show to compete (an early MMA type of show). The show Battle Of The Tough Guys stars a monster name Zeus. Zeus had gone to jail for killing a guy, He’s also a former student of Charlies.

Zeus is doing what he can to make Rip’s life hell. He wants to fight him in a match on his network which Rip declines. After he puts Randy in the hospital, Rip vows to destroy Zeus once and for all.
